About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Scientia Technologiae is a scientific journal distinguished by its multidisciplinary nature, focusing on technology as an integrating and catalytic element of knowledge. It is dedicated to publishing original research and technical manuscripts that address the development, application, and innovation of technologies in various societal contexts. Its scope is structured around four thematic axes:
• Technology, Engineering, and Applied Innovation
Focused on transforming scientific knowledge into innovative solutions, this axis investigates the
fundamentals and applications that drive technological progress. It encompasses research on new
materials, manufacturing processes, and systems engineering, including additive manufacturing and
the development of components for analog games, as well as the development of automation,
intelligent devices, and integrated technological solutions, all aimed at overcoming industrial
challenges and addressing societal needs.
• Digital Technologies and Digital Transformation
This axis studies the infrastructure and impact of digital transformation. It investigates Information
and Communication Technologies (ICTs) as the foundational layer, along with advances in artificial
intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. This technical scope extends to the analysis of immersive
environments and socio-digital ecosystems (like gaming), incorporating research on game design, ludic
mechanics, and the architectures of interactive systems, exploring their applications and
reconfiguration of contemporary social life.
• Technology, Environment, and Health
This axis focuses on the technological and methodological convergence aimed at sustainability. It
encompasses interdisciplinary research in fields such as biotechnology, digital health, bioengineering,
environmental sciences and technologies, renewable energy, productive system design, and circular
economy models. The goal is to foster the development of integrated solutions that enhance ecosystem
health and promote the well-being of communities, emphasizing sustainable practices and innovation
in addressing global challenges.
• Technology, Society, and Humanities
Dedicated to the critical analysis of the interactions between technology and the social fabric, this axis
explores the reconfigurations of the human condition in contemporary society, reflecting on the
contributions of various disciplines and their historical, philosophical, ethical, political, and
educational implications. It examines cultural and technological practices, such as role-playing games
(RPGs) and collaborative narratives. It analyzes the impact of new forms of social interaction, the
strengthening of communities, and the development and consolidation of contemporary theories.
Frequency
The journal is published by the EDIFS Publishing House of the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Sergipe and adopts the Continuous Article Publication (CAP) system. This expedites the publication process, as newly accepted articles are added continuously to each annual volume upon completion of the editorial process.
